Another 100% original song and video created totally from scratch in 2 days!! Shibastik was invited to Attawapiskat for the grand opening of the brand new Youth Center to perform, speak and facilitate his Healing Through Hip Hop "Rap Your Style" workshop. These youth did an amazing job composing the beat and were so much fun to work with recording their vocals and shooting the video. There was a lot going on in the community and I think we captured some of that good energy :) Enjoy "Drip Drip"!!!
Another song from scratch!! This one was created by some very talented First Nations youth in Deer Lake. Our first rapper freestyled for 5 minutes straight and we used his bars for the chorus and the first two verses. A group of youth then collaborated on the third verse to bring it all together. Special thanks to Brent "Mooselegs" Edwards, Josh "Classic Roots" Deperry and Natasha Fisher for their cameos. We even have an appearance by Paulina "Willie Jack" Alexis!!
Shibastik spent 2 days working with a group of grade 10 students at Pelican Falls First Nations High School to come up with this original song and video. Big props to the youth who got on the mic and showed us how to #RapYourStyle as he laid down the verses we wrote together as a group. We even had a youth add some cool guitar work to the track 🙂 Participants learned how to create and structure a beat, write bars with multi-syllable rhyme schemes, imagery and wordplay as well as compose a song. Together we are "Winning This Fight!!" #NishHop!!!!
Written and recorded on the Fort William First Nation. This Healing Through Hip Hop "Rap Your Style" workshop was hosted by Nokiiwin Tribal Council with youth from Biinjitiwaabik Zaaging Anishinaabek (Rocky Bay First Nation), Bingwi Neyaashi Anishinaabek (Sandpoint First Nation), Netmizaaggamig Nishnaabeg (Pic Mobert First Nation) and Animkii Wajiw (Fort William First Nation). A fun song that will get you moving!!
I had such a great week in Pikangikum doing presentations, a 2 hour concert and this songwriting workshop with the grade 11 First Nations, Metis & Inuit class. The youth came up with all of the words that you hear rhyming and the concept of the song. Together we put it to lyrics and I rapped it over a beat I had made. Some of the youth got on the mic to introduce themselves and say what they love about living in Pikangikum. This was added to the intro and the outro. So proud of these young people and the song we created together as a team!! Please enjoy the sounds and visuals of "Safe Travel".
#WetumBoys (Shibastik, AntoineX & Artson) made another trip North to Wunnumin Lake during their Summer Festival 2023. Hope we captured the vibes!!!

It was an honour to be invited to work with the youth during Tataskweyak's 1st Annual Lifting Our Language Conference. Split Lake is an amazing and inspiring community to work with. I was made to feel much more than welcome as soon as I arrived until the last evening when I was taken fishing. Such hospitality and so much good food!! Walleye, pike, white fish, caribou, moose, goose... all prepared with love and all so delicious!! The youth were extremely fun and we created a song incorporating Cree words and humour :) Enjoy "Lifting Language" and share the words!! Video features Ken Bighetty, Brigette Lacquete and many more amazing Natives!!
